Douglas A. Lawton

Douglas A. Lawton, DPhil, is a clergy-educator with deep convictions on social issues. As a scholar and experienced writer, Lawton deals with marriage issues in a conscientious manner and brings years of pastoral ministry to bear on the marriage relationship. While making helpful suggestions for pastoral intervention and care toward marriage preservation, Lawton objectively aids the reader to navigate the reality of divorce, and the desire for a new beginning.

Lawton served pastorates in America, Jamaica, and the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and is a lecturer of psychology at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mount Hope campus. A Jamaican native, he did undergraduate work in theology at Indiana Baptist College, U.S.A., earned a postgraduate degree in psychology through St. Stevens College, Canada, and earned a Doctor of Philosophy religion and society at Oxford Graduate School.
